Bethesda, Md., (January 3, 2014) – Readers of Bethesda Magazine voted Suburban Hospital’s emergency, heart and stroke care as the best in the area. It’s the hospital’s fifth year being featured in the magazine’s annual “Best of Bethesda” issue.
“We’re proud to be honored and recognized once again by Bethesda Magazine readers as the area’s best, and even more proud of being able to care for and serve those readers in our community for more than 70 years,” said Suburban Hospital President Gene Green, M.D.
Suburban Hospital’s Emergency Department cares for more than 40,000 patients each year and is Montgomery County’s only Level II trauma center. The hospital offers early recognition of a heart attack through rapid chest pain evaluation. Immediate intervention, including angioplasty or cardiac surgery, is available through the expertise of the NIH Heart Center at Suburban Hospital.
In addition, the rapid response NIH Stroke Team is highly trained in the newest, most effective diagnostic and treatment procedures. As soon as a stroke patient arrives at Suburban Hospital, this multi-disciplinary team promptly goes into action to confirm the diagnosis, identify the type of stroke, and quickly initiate an optimal treatment plan.
