Suburban Hospital's Community Health and Wellness Department offers a number of screenings for the community:

  • Cholesterol — Total cholesterol is measured by a simple fingerstick technique. No fasting required and results are shared in minutes.

  • Body Composition — With either a handheld or scale instrument, this screening offers a safe, quick, and accurate method of measuring body composition. In five minutes, you will know your percent of body fat, lean body mass, and appropriate fitness recommendations.

  • Blood Pressure — A free service that offers wallet size cards to record multiple screenings and disseminates helpful health education materials. For a complete list of our ongoing blood pressure screenings, click here.

  • Bone Density This quick and easy screening measures the Bone Mass Density of your heel and takes 3 to 5 minutes to estimate your risk of developing osteoporosis.
  • Vision — An easy way to test one’s vision to determine if there is an onset of vision problems such as blindness and vision impairment.

  • Spirometry — A pulmonary lung function tests the amount of air flowing in and out of the lung, how fast the air is able to flow in and out of the lung, how stiff the lungs are, and how well the lungs respond to chest physical therapy procedures.
